ARRIVALS FROM AUSTRALIA. AUCKLAND, Thursday. A number of racing men who attended the Randwlck Easter carnival arrived by the Wanganella yesterday. Owners included Mr A. F. M. Symes, of Hastings, owner of La Mod erne; Messrs Smith brothers, of MangaWeka, owners of Peter Jackson; Mr Clive Matthews, of Hamilton; and Mr W. Higgins, of Wellington. Mr A. G. Mabee, secretary of the Auckland Trotting Club, returned after seven months’ holiday in Australia. The Otald trainer A. D. Webster, who has had First Acre, Bayacre and other horses racing in Sydney, also arrived. A. W. McDonald, of Palmerston North, who was in charge of La Moderne for her racing at Randwlck, was another passenger. La Moderne leaves Sydney for Wellington by the Monowai to-morrow.

The successful Jookey, Ashley Reed, brother of Roy Reed, arrived on a holiday visit to New Zealand. He will leave to-morrow for the South and will remain there until May 11, when he will return to Melbourne.
