Ltd,, made a careful examination of ‘ASPRO, As a result of these examinations, I have to report that, after 100 individual tests, I find that no single Tablet of ‘ASPRO’ contains any trace of free Salicylic Acid. I find the weight of the Tablets very uniform, and that they have been made by some process which, contrary to the general practice, does not cause decomposition and consequent liberation for free Salicylic Acid. All other processes of Aspirin Tablet manufacture with which I am acquainted, turn out Tablets which ai„ liable to contain, and do frequently contain, free Salicylic Acid. Class. 284—The Dominion Compressed Yeast Co., Ltd. of Christchurch and Auckland, otfer a Solid Silver Challenge Shield (at present held by Frank Findlay, Esq., Hamilton), and a Gold Medal for competition amongst bakers, whose place of business is in the North Island, on the following terms and conditions. The competition is limited to bakers whose place of business is in the North Island. Every entrant must be a bona fide user of D.Y.C. Compressed Yeast, and use it regularly and exclusively in the whole of his fermentations. Every entry is accepted, and every exhibit judged, subject to the foregoing condition, and the decision of the Company as to whether any entrant is or is not a bona fide user of Compressed Yeast, shall bo final. The Shield will bo awarded to the best Upright Tin Loaf of White Bread made from a dough in which the fermentation was conducted by Compressed Yeast alone. A double Uprignt Tin Loaf must bo submitted, and the same will be broken by the judges only, so ns to show the break.
