HAMILTON PIGEON CLUB.
RING RACE FROM FEILDING. The Hamilton Pigeon Club flew its “annual special ring race” from Feilding under very bad (lying conditions. Flying into <1 headwind the winner covered the'l72 miles 847 yards, in shrs. 44 minutes. The results were:—F. Clement’s “Lady Glare,” 882yds. per minute 1; Martin and Son’s “ Young Togo,” 879yds. per minute 2; W. G. Pountney’s “ 377,” 702yds. per minute 3. Also flew: —Woodhall and Son 700, M. Innes-Jones 692, Thomar: and Son, L. Cooper, C. Mayes, Crabb and Son. Race from Ohakune. Thirty-nine birds competed in a “send three clock two race" from Ohakune. The winner covered the 111 miles 096 yards in 3hrs. 17 minutes 11 seconds. The results were:—F. Woodcock’s “310” and “309,” 1049yds per minute 1; Monds and Fitzgerald’s “57” and “182," 1044yds per minute 2; F. Clement's “228" and “116,” 1042.2yd5. per minute 3. Also flow:—Woodhall and Son 1042.1, Bushel and Ashton 1040, Crabb and Son 1038, Thomas and Son .1027, Martin and Son 1011, C. Mayes 1008, Sr. Innes-Jones 933. W. Grace 908, W. G. Pountney, L. Cooper. Next week the club will conclude its young bird programme from Palmerston North.
