Landlubber had the best of an Indifferent start and led early’from Valreina, Principal, Roman Mascot, United, Searcher and Tatyoon. Landlubber and Valreina were on terms at the turn, where Wee Musk had improved his position, in front of Principal, Master Norval and Tatyoon. Master Norval came through over the final portion ,to hold off United narr’owly. Landlubber failed to go on with It, and was three-quarters of a length away, followed by Tatyoon, Principal, Don’t Lap, Glen Rata, Gigantic, Wee Musk, and Mahklll. Time, 1.41 3-5.

It looked at the distance as if Greek Gold could not see it out, but he came again to pass the post with a head to spare. British Columbia, who led from the jump out, was three-quarters of a length "in front of Instalment, who was at a wide return on the straight out machine. British Columbia W’a3 the leader at the home turn, and across the top was attended by Tradesman, Manawhenua, Lordly Knight, Tetrarchate, and Greek Gold. There was no alteration in the order 'at the home turn. Desert Star was In demand with both sections of the public and he fully justified their confidence by drawing away and scoring by a comfortable margin. * Limex was always handily placed and she was finishing on solidly at the end. Imamint was a moderate third. Along the back and across the lop Imamint had charge of affairs and was followed there by Lady’s Boy, Limex, Chief Joy, Desert Star, Gay Cockade and Karangapai. Lady’s Boy went out in front at the home turn, but she was done with when they settled down to the real business in hand. Desert Star was not troubled to win In decisive fashion (four lengths) from Limex, who had the measure of Imamint by three lengths. Lady’s Boy, the next to finish, was followed by Karangapai, Gay Cockade and Chief Jov. Time, i. 40 3-5.

An Inquiry. An inquiry was held into the running of Rereatu in the Oakley Handicap, but after the evidence of the parties concerned was hoard, it was decided to take no action. TOTALISATOR DECREASE. DROP OF £OOS. Adverse weather icoiidltlons and small fields in four events considerably affected the tolalisator investments on the day, the turnover amounting to £20,605 —a decrease of £605 on the figures for the corresponding day last season.

The final day of the Australian Jockey Club’s Autumn Meeting was held at Randwick yesterday in fine, warm weather and on a - splendid track. The attendance was 25,000. Wlnooka, the Doncaster Handicap winner -continued on his winning way and enjoyed an easy victory in the Cropper Plate. The New Zealand Autopay appears to have lost form and .was unable to finish -ahead of the ancient Greenline. > -Peter Pan was fully extended to beat off a determined challenge by Lough Neagh in the final stages of the A.'J.C. Plate. La Moderne wa3 unplaced. The New Zealander Peter Jackson made a gallant effort to defeat Pretzel in the Dangar Handicap, finally going under by a head. Prior to. the start Peter Jackson lost his rider and gal-' loped a mile before being caught. Taking charge Immediately the barrier lifted Wlnooka ran home untroubled and passed the judge five lengths ahead of Greenline, with Autopay a length away third. Time, 1.134.

Eighteen started. Spear Belle made the early running from Art, Pontoon and Verla. When the straight was entered Spear Belle had a slight advantage from Burlesque, Verla, Pontoon and Blixten. Finishing with determination Blixten did best in the final stage and won by a length.

Loch Garry led 'early from Trevallion,' New King, Version and Bold Boy. From a bunched field turning for home, Trevallion, New King and Maltdale were prominent, and in the run to the post Bold Boy finished best to win by a' neck.

RAGING IN AMERICA. WIN FOR TEA TRADER. FAST TIME SET UP. SAN FRANCISCO, April 22. Mr D. J. Davis’ New Zealand horse Tea Trader won the Australian Handicap, the feature of to-day’s races on the Tanforan track. He romped home, finishing five lengths ahead of Polydorus, with U.P. third. The distanco was 170 ft. less than six furlongs, and Tea ’Trader’s time was 1.9, the season’s fastest time. Tea Trader, with Mr Davis’ other horse Pillow Fight, was shipped to Los Angeles by the Mariposa on January 17. He first raced at Agua Caliente, Mexico, on February 19, in an invitation handicap,' but ran last. On March 19 he wc|i a six-furlong race in 1.11, which is 3-sth. of a second outside the course reoord. On March 26 he ran second-in a three-quarter mile event. Tea Trader ran his first race In the United States on April 16 at the Tanforan track, San Bruno, California. The distance was 170 ft. less than six furlongs. U.P. won by a nose from Tea Trader, who beat Sarazen by. a similar margin in a whirl-wind finish. Time, 1.10 2-5. The New Zealand and Australian reoord for six furlongs is 1.9 2-5, established by Silver Scorn at Riccarton on February 18. The reoord for the Ellerslie course is 1.12 1-5, held by Arlsus, while Tea Trader covered the distance in 1.12 3-5 at Ellerslie on January 2.
