AUCTION BRIDGE
AN AMAZING GAME. EACH HELD COMPLETE SUIT. . An amazing game of Auction Bridge has been played at Wallasey (Eng.), in which each of the four players had a complete suit at the end of a deal. The game was at the home of Mr C. Hawkins, of Kingsway, Wallasey, and he was playing with his wife and Mr and Mrs "Warburton, his neighbours. The two men were partners against their w'ves. Mrs Warburton opened with a hid of seven hearts, having the whole of that suit in her hand. Mr Hawkins hid seven spades. That 'finished the bidding. But their amazement was still greater when Mrs Hawkins showed thirteen diamonds and Mr Warburton thirteen clubs. “Wc are all prepared to swear affidavits in regard to the truth of the slory,” said Mr. Hawkins. He added I hat lie understood the odds against a player receiving a hand of thirteen of oho" suit, had been calculated at 17,000,000 lo 1, but apparently it would be almost Impossible to' calculate the odds against such a happening as tills one.
