HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

THE HAMILTON BODY. DAHLIA SHOW PREPARATIONS. A meeting of the committee of the Hamilton Horticultural Society was held last evening, when arrangements were dualised with regard to 'the Dahlia Show to he held in the Y.M.C.A. on Tuesday, March 7. Mr A. J. Shailer, of Palmerston North, was appointed Judge of the dahlia and cut flower classes, and It was deckled to ask Mrs Dawson, of Te Awamutu, to judge 'the decorative work, and Mr F. Best the fruit and vegetables. The president reported the result of informal negotiations with representatives of the Women’s Institute, arid It was decided to inaugurate a competition between the branches of the institute. The exhibit from each competing branch is to be six varieties of cut flowers arranged for effect in the society’s vases; not more than six flowers or spikes of flowers to a vase.
