WOMEN’S DIVISION.

MEETING AT TIRAU. Owing to the rapid growth of branches and membership of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, it is being found that the quarterly meetings of provincial executives are becoming 100 unwieldy to handle successfully, and smaller executives are being formed throughout New Zealand.

A very large and representative gathering of members representing seven branches was held in the Tirau Hall on February Ml. Miss Marshall, president of the South Auckland Executive, addressed the meeting and spoke of the advantages to be gained by smaller provincial executives, thus enabling small branches to attend. It was unanimously decided to form the .Waikato East Provincial Executive, quarterly meetings to be held alternatively at Tirau, Putaruru and Ngongotaha. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mrs Voycc (Putaruru) ; vice-presidents, Mrs Allen (Tirau), Mrs Griffiths (Matamata) ; committee, Mrs Sloper (Tokor'oa), Mrs Brown (Beporoa), Mrs Martin (Ngongotaha), and Mrs Barnett (Waotu). The appointment of a secretary was left to tiic Putaruru branch. A dainty afternoon tea was provided by the Tirau ladies.
