The resolution for the repeal of. prohibition In the United States was carried by the House of Representatives to-day by a vote of 289 to 121, sixteen more than the two-thirds majority required by the constitution. Roosevelt, expressed his gratification at the adoption of the prohibition repeal resolution, and added that he hoped this session also to enact the beer legislation now' in the Senate.
