RATEPAYERS’ REQUESTS. DEPUTATIONS TO MEETING. Two ratepayers waited on 'the Waipa County Council at the monthly meeting yesterday pndea vouring to sain relief from their rales. \lj. t. 0. set no definite date for payment of all or any part of Ihe balance. After discussion the council accepted the offer and deputed 11 1 e chairman, clerk and solicitor to draw up an agreement lo safeguard the council. Mr M. Roscnhurg, who lias a lease of the Ngarolo Domain I,and. asked the council, silling as the Domain Board, lo ease his position for him as his 21-year lease expires in ten years’ time without a right of renewal, or right of compensation, and he had spent £BOO odd in improvements on the place. lie asked for his present lease to he cancelled and a new lease roc a further 2 1 years drawn up. He also requested a reduction in rent. —l’lle matter was left in the hands of Crs Macky and Storey.
