Suppliers’ Picnlo. There was a gathering of over 1000 people, from all parts of the district at a picnic of suppliers held by the Morrinsvillc Dairy Company on tho Lockerbie Estate on Saturday. A sports programme was conducted and the many children present, were especially catered for. Excellent music was provided by llio Morrinsvillc Municipal Hand under the baton of Mr L. Buchan (To Aroha). Cricket. A team of veteran 'cricketers from llamillon visited Morrinsville on Salurday and engaged Iho local team. Veterans batted llrst and made 127, of which Scott 21, Everest, 10 and do la ; Mare 10 not out were top scorers. Mallcll look six wickets for 03 and McPherson Iwo for 23. Morrinsvillc made 101 (Kalkner 20. Mallctt IS, Russell 17). Moore took six wickeds 1 for 22. MrLaren three for (>. Baiting again. Veterans compiled 73 for seven wickets and declared (McLaren 26, Lamb 10. Hope 10 not, out). Wanting 100 runs and a little over 30 minutes ‘ to play, Morrinsville with some big bitting just failed to reach the visit- ’ ors' total by one run (McPherson 2b, Falkner 22, Philpott 18 not out).
