IRISH LABOUR.
TROUBLES IN ULSTER.
GENERAL BTRIKE REQUESTED. ALL TRANSPORT THREATENED. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received Feb. , 20, 1.20 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 19. The Belfast carters and dockers have resolved to ask the National Executive of the Transport Workers’ Union to authorise a general strike of carters and dockers in Ulster, unless the railway companies enter into negotiations. The executive in London will consider the request to-morrow. The dockers and carters have hitherto refused to handle goods usually carried on the railways and lately diverted to the roads owing to the railway strike. A general strike will bring to a standstill the trade of the Ulster ports.
