PREMIER AND DAIRY BOARD. SUPPORT ACCORDED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association,) WELLINGTON, Saturday. The Prime Minister (Right H°n. G. W. Forbes) stated to-day that the Government had been in consultation with the Dairy Board regarding the suggestions from London concerning the regulation of butler imports into the United Kingdom. “The Government will leave no stone unturned in safeguarding the interests of producers,” said Mr Forbes. It is emphasised that no official request for the limitation of exports lias been made by the British Government, and It is expressly stipulated in the Ottawa agreement that New Zealand dairy products shall Le guaranteed entry into the United Kingdom without restriction or duty for at least three years. 'Nevertheless there Is a clear need for consultation and co-operation by Empire countries to meet the present abnormal situation and safeguard the future. We are willing and anxious to play our part in such co-operation.” Mr Forbes says be has conveyed to the High Commisisoner in London the Dairy Board's resolution and Identified the Government with the view that there should he no restriction on our exports. To this Mr Forbes added the intimation that the Government will cooperate in working out a scheme for improving the position so far as the marketing of dairy produce Is concerned.
