LOCAL OBSERVATIONS. Messrs. Balfour M. Irvine and Webster, Ltd., supplies the following observations of the weather:— Barometer. Monday 29.95 Thermometer. Max. Min. Sunday .. 85.0 62.0 The barometer reads 29.95 with a rising tendency. Indications are fo? generally fair weather to-day and tomorrow with seasonable temperature; winds chiefly from a south-easterly direction. Mean temperature, 73.5 degrees. During the past 24 hours .0 inch of rain fell. Mean temperature 72 degrees. SOUTH AUCKLAND AREA. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist.) The special forecast by the Government meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valley area is as follows : General inference: Pressure has risen since yesterday over most of the Dominion and to the east of it, but is falling to the west and north-west. Conditions are disturbed also in the tropics, although no definite sterm centre is yet reported. Forecast: Moderate to strong north-east lo northerly winds. Weather cloudy, warm and humid with mist or fog in places. Rain gradually developing. Seas moderate. , Tnc Weather Bureau wires : The -indications for 24 'hours from 9 a.m. this day are- for moderate southerly winds. Expect dull weather with much mist and fog In parts. Conditions warm and humid with local rain and electrical disturbances developing. Barometer has falling tendency. THE RAINFALL. (Recorded at Ruakura Farm.) Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9.30 this morning, .Oin. Rainfall for previous 24 hours .Oin. Total for February, 4.49 in. Rainfall for year to date, 7.12 in.
