He rode in five match races, and won them all in times ranging from lm 19s (a season record) to lm 2is. Results were:— J Overseas Match Race. —Eric Langf ton, (England) beat Clem Mitchell (Adelaide) by 50 yards; time lm 19s. Second Race: Langton beat Mitchell. Time, lm 21s. Won by 40 yards.
