AGAIN VISITS DOMINION
LADY ANGELA SINCLAIR ERSKINE A titled authoress, Lady Angela St. Clalr-Ersklne, whose recent commentson the Governor of New South Wales, Sir Philip Game, caused something of a sensation, arrived at Auckland by the Rangitikl on Thursday to spend a holiday In New Zealand. Lady Angela said that, In commenting on Sir Philip Game, she had overlooked the fact that, as the King’s representative, ho should not be criticised as ar ordinary Individual. “I cannot understand why my book •should have given offence to Australia," Lady Angela said. “I met many Australians in England and France during the war and learned to admire them immensely. But I did not think that the possession of tliir skins was an Australian characteristic.” Lady Angela said her book was chiefly concerned with lie" impressions of New Zealand. She was genuinely in.love with the Dominion and from now on would probably make an annual trip from England. The varied beauty of the- scenery, the excellence of the fishing and the charm and courtesy constituted a permanent appc/S. "As an Englishwoman, I should like to pay tribute to the> excellenl manner In which the Governor-Gcn-eval, Lord Bledisloe, fulfills his office,” Lady Angela added. "Everything he does is done correctly and with a full realisation of the dignity of his office.”
Lady Angela will leave Auckland shortly for Rotorua and Taupo on a fishing trip. She is accompanied by the Earl and Countess of Hosslyn, the Earl, a prominent Scottish peer, being her brothe", and the Earl of Wcmyss, who is also a relative. The Conn less of Rosslyn intends visiting relatives at Pleasant Point, near Timaru, and all members of Hie party hope to gain experience of New Zealand trout fishing. ________
