THE INCREASE IN TAXEB. \ TE AROHA, Friday. ' The recent economy measures introduced by the Government were criticised at a meeting -of the Te Aroha Chamber of Commerce last evening: The following resolution was carried:—“That this chamber views with much concern the abnormal increase in taxation on town dwellers, and the severe strain placed on business men, which has resulted in many small shopkeepers being forced out of business." _
