“DELIBERATE CASE.”

BLENDING OF BUTTER. PROSECUTION IN ENGLAND. PINES OP £44 IMPOSED. United Press Assn.— Elec. Tel. Copyright* (Received Feb. 18, 10j55 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 17. ■"One of the most deliberate an( worst cases which, have ever oomi, before this court,” is how the magistrate described seven summonses heard In the Aling Court against Green Farm Dairies, North Holt, Middlesex. The summonses included the selling of blended foreign butter without a mark of origin. The prosecution said Siberian and Australian butter had been blended and sold in wrappers inscribed: “‘Choicest creamery butter, the product of the finest pastu-es in the world. Absolutely pure.” The defence contended that the public was indifferent to whether the butter was Australian or Russian, so long as, it got its money’s worth. Fines totalling £44 were imposed.
