The Senate to-day adopted the Blaine resolution for the repeal of the prohibition amendment, with protection for dry States from liquor importations, ratification to be by State Conventions. The Blaine resolution now goes to the House of Representatives. The Speaker, Mr J. N. Garner, predicted this morning that If the resolution were adopted by the Senate in the form it was, it would be approved by the House of Representatives, under the suspension rules, on Monday.

The Senate vote on a thirteen-year-old amendment, was marked by great tension, the floor being crowded by members of the Lower House who stood behind many senators, seated quietly in their chairs answering their names.
