WHOLESALE DESTRUCTION
MILLIONS OF RAZOR BLADES. ADVENT OF NEW PATTERN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. Millions of razor blades of a wellknown make, held in bond in New Zealand, have been destroyed at the Clyde Quay destructor, in the presence of officers of the Customs Department and the New Zealand agent for the blades. Similar action has been carried out In many other parts of the world because of the advent of a new pattern blade, it being considered the honourable thing to clear all markets of existing stocks. At Montreal, Canada, and Slough, England, machinery costing hundreds of thousands of pounds for making this particular form of two-edged blade has been dismantled, broken up, and sunk at sea.
