In warm weather wo have to provide! for only the amount of energy we require, so the heat-forming foods must he rut. down. Proteins and fats arc the chief of these, and they should he reduced by at least half. In order lo get the proper amount of food for our activities the carbohydrate ration must, therefore lie raised. This means that wo should cut down meal, tlsh, cheese, fals and butter to half our usual quantity, and thi'ii make good the loss by taking sulliciciit cereals, fruit, vegetables and salads. In other words the starches and sugars should form at least threequarters of our diet.
