GOLF AT THE LAKE.
MEN’S COMPETITION. FINAL ROUND TO-AIQRROW. POPULARITY OF THE LINKS. The last round of the men’s competition at Ihc Lake Golf Links will he’ played to-morrow by members of Ihc club. The competition is medal 18 holes on three Saturdays, the winner to be the holder of the best twe cards out of three. These links are proving very popular to the public, particularly between 5 and 7 p.m.
It is a matter for regret that many beginners do not trouble to make themselves acquainted with the rules and ordinary procedure of golf. There have been many instances of players damaging the greens by using mashies and niblicks on them and others thoughtlessly leaving large footmarks in I tie sand hunkers, players following alter them often incurring unwarranted penalties as a result.
