BOWLERS SUSPENDED
FRANKTON CLUB’S POSITION. PENALTY CONSIDERED UNJUST. DOMINION COUNCIL APPROACHED The suspension of the Frankton Bowling Club by the South Auckland centre for allegedly conducting an unauthorised tournament last Sunday, in contravention of the centre rules, was considered at a meeting of the Frankton executive last night. The outcome of the discussion was a decision to place the facts of the case before the Dominion Bowling Council. Members took the view that the club had been sentenced unjustly and without a fair trial, as it was stated that no official written notification that they had infringed the rules had been received, and the executive had not been given an opportunity to slate their case to the centre. It was pointed out that whereas only about 16 Frankton players took part in the play on Sunday, all the members were penalised by the suspension of the club, and these included a number who were against Sunday play.
