VISCOUNT CECIL’S EFFORTS. TEST FOR THE LEAGUE. « \ United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. RUGBY, Nov. 29. The Foreign Secretary, Sir John Simon, speaking at Geneva, paid a tribute to Viscount Cecil for his efforts to abolish the slavery that still exists in various parts of the world. He said it would be an immense achievement if the new’ greater Parliament of the world at Geneva could do something which would correspond with what had been done in national life by the late William Wilberforce and his friends. One of the great tests of the user fulness of Geneva would be whether the nations w’ould or would not be able to see something real done in the next few years for the effective abolition of slavery from the world.
