OIL-ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVE IN CANADA. —No. 9000, of the Canadian National Railways, making its inaugural run between Montreal and Toronto in 1925, hauling a section of the famous " International Limited,” a crack train which operates between Montreal and Chicago, via Toronto and Detroit. The locomotive emerged with honours from the gruelling test, hauling the heavy train at high speed over the 340 miles of line, in some places attaining a speed of over 80 miles an hour. On right, the power unit, which develops 3000 horse power.
