CENTENARIAN’S FLIGHT.
ENJOYS THE EXPERIENCE. CROWNED QUEEN OF CARNIVAL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HASTINGS, Tuesday. A half-hour’s flight In one of the Hawke’s Bay and East Coast Aero Club’s machines was made to-day by Mrs. Mary Ann Adamson, who entered her 100th year last Sunday. Mrs. Adamson enjoyed her experience thoroughly, and during the flight spoke jauntily to the pilot, Flying-Of-ficer Gcrrand, about Ihe sights that lay below her. At the end of the flight Mrs. Adamson was crowned queen of ihe Hastings carnival by the Mayor, Mr G. E. Roach, and was cheered by a large gathering of people. Mrs. Adamson, whose 77-y Car-old son was one of the spectators, arrived in New Zealand 97 years ago. At the conclusion of her flight it was decided that Mrs. Adamson should be made a life honorary member of the Aero Club.
