The Governor-General will attend a lecture to be given at Victoria College, Wellington, this evening by Professor F, P. Wilson, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death o’ Giuseppe Garibaldi. Dr. A. E. BlacTcburn, of London,, is at the Hamilton Hotel. Mr Tano Fama, the well-known theatrical manager, is in Hamilton. Mr. Norton Clapp, of Tacoma, Washington, U.S.A., arrived at Wellington from Sydney by the Maunganui, on a holiday visit. Mr. J. W. Graham, of Christchurch, president of the New Zealand Master Builders’ Federation, returned to Wellington by the Maunganui at the end of a six months’ trip abroad. Dr Shand, formerly of Dunedin and Christehursh, returned to New Zealand by the Maunganui. He has been doing post-griUiuate work in London and Edinburgh during the last three years. Mr. W. ?. Bonn, of Melbourne, field representative of the Seventh Day AdventisL Church, arrived at Wellington from Sydney by the Maunganui. He will spend four months here, during which will attend conferences in the North and South Islands. Mr. M. Tatham, 0.8. R., arrived in Wellington by the Maunganui. Mr. Tatham is of the lirm of Cadbury Bros., England, and is on a business visit to New Zealand. Messrs G. A. Miller, B. Grigs. AV. Hardy, K. M. Hunt, H. G. Mason, A. Holderness, 11. G. .lel'fery. («. W. Bagrie (Auckland), W. M. BalclilTe (BolOma), and A. B. Perry (Christchurch) are at Hie Hamilton Hotel. At SI. Paul's Methodist Church, Cambridge, Mr Albert, .1. Arnold was presented with a diploma as a reward for his :)5 years’ service as a local preacher. Mr .1. C. Tieljens, of Hamilton, conducted the service. The directors of the Northern Steamship, Limited, have appointed their co-director, Mr A. li. Bolierton, to the position of chairman of the company, which was rendered vacant by the death of Mr Charles BhOdes. It has been decided to invite Mr Eric Bhodes to lilt Hie vacant seat on the board.
