FAITH-HEALING.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —As a new arrival In your picturesque town, on Sunday evening I visited the Alexandra Hall. A lady was leading a “faith-healing” meeting (the first I have ever been to). The musle and singing were very good, also the Bible-reading and address. But the faith-healing was somewhat strange to me, also somewhat remarkable. On the laying-on of hands by the lady missioner those who ventured to the front of the hall suddenly collapsed on Hie floor, some remaining longer than others. Now, Sir, what is this strange power that has come amongst us? Is it Divine, spiritual, or lasting, and does it benefit people? One thing that was evidently real was the great crowd of people moving around who were suffering in some form or other. I am not one to condemn any lawful means to cure suffering humanity, and if the spiritual part is revived, so much the better for themselves and those around. Enlightenment from those cured would be a great advantage. As regards the financial part, as far as I could see by Hie plate that was taken around, it would not pay tho expenses of the hall, so money cannot be the object.—l am, etc., ONE INTERESTED. Franklon, November 26, 1932.
