Maloney op Maronan? An amusing interlude occurred during the proceedings of tlie Transport Appeal Hoard at Timaru, when Mr II \ Knight, counsel for appellant, in talking’ of the Timaru-to-Christ-cluirch route, mentioned Maronan Road. Mr Justice Frazer interrupted with a query as to the pronunciation of the word “Maronan. Alter Mr Knight had repealed the word several times. His Honour was heard to query: "Maloney?" Mr Knight and others in attendance again pronounced the word, whereon ills Honour remarked that "Maloney" would do. "Maloney 0 r Maronan. your Hono'itr. it seems they both have the same derivation at anyr&te," commented Mr \V. F. ,Tracy, oounsel for respondent.
