THE AUCKLAND MARKETS. BIDDING OPENS QUIETLY. (By Telegraph.—Special to ’rimes.) AUCKLAND, .Monday. Bidding opened quietly at the JO o’clock call this morning. The easing in Government securities was confirmed with a sale of 5i per cent. September issue at £O7 Ids, a drop of £2 Ids in a week. Subsequently buyers went back to £O7, while holders asked £ t higher. The banking section was steady but dull. New Zealands were easier, with holders willing to sell at the last sale price of £2 5s 0< 1, but the top bidder stopped at £2. Wilson's Cements were quoted ex div. with sellers at £1 Its .'id. In the mining section King Solomons were in demand, and a buyer went higher to secure a parcel at. 2s -id. the highest level readied for this scrip for some time. \\ aihis were lirm, with sellers at lOs and buyers five pence lower.
