sume paying Britain £12,500,000 and Italy must pay America £250,000 and Britain £4,000,000, while the dominions, principally Australia, must resume paying £8,000,000 yearly. REPERCUSSION OF OTTAWA. In the House or Commons Mr James Maxton (Labour member for Bridgeton, Glasgow), speaking in the Address-in-reply debate, said that when Ministers talked of the dangers of war they never looked across the Atlantic and failed to realise that Ottawa was a challenge to the world, particularly the United States. He hoped the Government would recognise- that America’s stiff-necked debt attitude was not unconnected with the Ottawa discussions.
