ROSES AT CAMBRIDGE.
THE ANNUAL SHOW. The annual rose snow and sale of work, under Hie auspices of the parish of St. Andrew’s, Cambridge, was commenced on Thursday. The Mayor, Mr C. 11. Priestly, officially opened Hie show. The vicar, Archdeacon G. G. Bell, paid tribute to the work of the ladies’ guild and those responsible for the organisation of the exhibition. In the cut flowers' and decorative sections the standard was particularly high, the judge of the roses, Mr M. 11. Williams, being especially pleased with the exhibits. The most successful exhibitor was Mr 11. Bennett, of Tc Knwhai, who also secured the championships of the show with “.). C, Glassford.” The decorative sec- ! lion was judged by Mrs It. Dawson, of Tc Awamutu. Those in charge of the stalls were: Produce, plants and cakes, Mcsdames Bell, Pearce, Hardy, Fletcher and Boss; kitchen, Mcsdames Alderton and Stuart; fancy, Miss Braun and Mrs A. 11. Nic’oll; dolls, Mesdames Hanna, Horne, Hounslow and Miss M. Goodwin, guild. Mesdames Dallimore, Soulcr, Payze and Howe; tea-rooms. .Mesdames Haworth, Hulme, Franklyn, G. Boyce, A. Boyce, Bell, Clancy and Miss Brann; sweets, Misses B. Crowther,' N. Armstrong and Mary Hicks.
