THE AUCKLAND MARKETS. QUIET BUT STEADY. (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Friday. The tone on the Stock Exchange was quiet, though steady. Walhis are a most popular line and a sale this morning at 17s iOd represents the, highest level this scrip has reached for a considerable period. The further appreciation of gold and the imminence of a dividend are the, contributing 'causes. There were not many changes in the banking section, but Australasias were easier with sellers at £9 19s and buyers at £9 16s.
