CROQUET.
THE MORRINSVILLE CLUB. OPENING OF THE SEASON. The Morrlnsville Croquet Club was officially opened on Wednesday afternoon, when there was a record attendance of members and visitors from surrounding districts. The Mayor, Mr W. T. Osborne, in declaring 'the lawns open, congratulated the club on its beautiful greens, and hoped members would have a pleasant playing season. Members showed their appreciation by presenting Mr Colin McLeod with a fountain-pen for his services to the club. Mrs Osborne hit the first ball through the hoop. Results of competitions were, as follows:—Progressive A, Mrs ,Monson (Te Aroha) ; progressive B, Mrs O. Martin; target croquet, Mrs N. Dey (Tatunul); clock golf, Mrs Neikell 1, Mrs Ebbett 2; golf croquet, Mrs Dey.
