RECORD-BREAKER ran away. IN THE CLOUDS. The probability that a Lismore boy has broken the world record for model aeroplane flying is supported by loss of his machine in the clouds, says the Lismore correspondent of a Sydney paper. Gordon Hunter won the Lismore Aero Club’s competition, wdren Ms model ’plane kept aloft for 42 seconds, which was poor time, because of adverse conditions. Hunter, who is an enthusiastic model builder, was very disappointed with the performance, as on the previous day he had flown the ’plane ■three-quarters of a mile in eight minutes. A wing was damaged in the competition, and Hunter repaired it, and decided to give it a tryout over the week-end. Wonderful Rlso. Conditions were ideal, and , after flying a quarter of a mile the model gained a height of 400 feet. Rising currents of air then caught the tiny monoplane, and it was gradually lifted to an altitude estimated at 3000 feet. At that height it was almost over the lop of llie owner and his friends and could be seen. it was kept in sight for ir> minutes by a watch, and then floated out of sight in the direction of Nimbin. As the ofllcial world record for a similar type model is 111 minutes, it, is prolmblo that Hunter has broken all records
