CHILD STRANGLED.
LOOKING THROUGH WINDOW. AN UNUSUAL FATALITY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Thursday. An unusual and distressing mishap caused the death of Mavis Laura Simpson (11), of Maungatua, yesterday afternoon. She left home to visit a neighbour about, a quarter of a mile away. About li hours later her elder sister went to see. what detained her. She found nobody at home at the neighbour's house, and on searching discovered the body of Mavis hanging from the window, the sash of which rested on her neck. Apparently the child had opened it to look through, and the window, which Is not on rollers, had fallen, strangling her.
