BASKETBALL.
THE DOMINION COUNCIL. ALTERATION ’IN RULE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Thursday. At'- a meeting of the Dominion Basketball Council it was decided that the executive be located at Wellington for the next three years. The * Wellington association moved that, the words, “or jump, provided the ball is caught before the player reaches the ground,” be deleted from Rule 7. This was carried with only one dissentient. The' - -change means that all players must reniain behind the 12ft. line until the ball has crossed it, though a .player may reach over this line provided 'her feet remain-behind It. JTh.e election for officers resulted:— Patroness,. Mrs J. G. Coates; president, Mrs. H. D. Muir; secretary and treasurer, Mrs R. Af. Smith. The remaining three members will be elected by. the Wellington association. The tournament for 1933 was allocated to Gisborne.
