The English League football team, playing the third match of their New Zealand tour, outclassed South Auchi' l&nd at Taupirl yesterday afternoon, v They led by 26 —5 at the interval.and finished up with 64 points in their favour against 11 points scored by the home team. While the rain had a restricting influence on the handling of the visitors, their -marked superiority in all leading departments of the game was evident, particularly in the' second half. Sullivan,- the captain and fullback, was always prominent and enhanced otherwise good play by successful goal-ldcklng, which contributed 22 points to the total. Woods put In some speedy runs down the wing. With the play coming his way, more was seen of him than of Ellaby, hut the latter showed what he could do more than once. Atkinson, the right centre, was another effective link. The forwards were a speedy set with Wright, White and Fender perhaps the -most consistent. Little was seen of the home backs | viewed from the combined aspect, al4 I though there were odd phases of useful individual effort. Smith and Abbott were the most prominent, while G. Tittleton and W. Tittleton gave some measure of support. The forwards worked hard against odds with MoBurnle and Timms good toilers throughout.
