LEAGUE FOOTBALL
ENGLISH TOURING TEAM. SOUTH AUCKLAND FIXTURE. HATCH AT TAUPIRI TO-MORROW. A fixture that will draw a large attendance will be the meeting of the English Touring League team and the South Auckland representatives at Taupiri to-morrow. The match will be the only one the visitors will play in this area and many will take the opportunity of seeing this sound visiting combination in action. The English team created a good record in Australia, winning two of the three Tests. They commenced their New Zealand itinerary auspiciously by a win by a very wide margin against North Auckland and a victory in the first Test match at Auckland on Saturday. To-morrow’s game will be their third of the tour and bright, fast and open play is promised. The South Auckland side is expected to give a good account of itself, as it is strong In defence and attack. The match will be played on Onslow Park, and will commence at 3 p.m. . Two curtain raisers, the first commencing at 12.45, will be played. The teams for the principal attraction will be: — South Auckland. ■Full-back: G. Tittleton. Three-quarters: W. Smith, W. Tittleton, E. Abbott. Five-eighths: A. Menzies, K. Peckbarn. Half-back: L. Knight. Front row: W. Hogan, R. Stevenson, H. Mason. Second row: P. Mcßurnie, J. Laird. Back row: T. Tims. Reserves: J. Farrell, H. Holland. 'England, ■Full-back: Sullivan, Risman (one to be omitted). Three-quarters: Ellaby, Atkinson, Dinsdale, Woods. Halves: Pollard, Adams, Davis (one to be omitted). Forwards: Williams, White, Wright, Horton, Fender, Feetham, Lowe (one to be omitted). Mr H. Morris, of Ngaruawahia, will be referee.
