HOLIDAY CRUISES.
ACTIVITY AT 'SOUTHAMPTON. RECORD BOOKINGS. (Omclal Wireless.) RUGBY. July 31. Southampton Is lhc scene of record activity this week-end. Twenty-two vessels, totalling 600,000 tons, including the Empress of Britain, the Aqintania, tlie Berengariu, the Olympic, the Homeric and other of the world's largest liners are sailing on holiday cruises lo Ihe Medilcrancan and other ports and on cruises round the British Isles. Bookings for these cruises which are four times as great as lust, year's hookings, provide evidence of the growing movement to spend holidays cruising in British vessels. Imperial Airways announce that all their previous records for air transport will bo broken this week-end.
