HOCKEY IN HAMILTON.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I have during the season taken an interest in hockey Jn Hamilton. There are several points which I cannot understand in connection with the 'game or the rules of the association. When at Steele Park a few weeks ago, I saw a 'match being played for the Killip Shield. The ball went ever the side line, also two players; one player stopped hut ■the other played the hall hack on to the playing ground as no whistle was blown. Is this a new rule or one of "rafferty’s." Now that the matches for the championship are half over, the association has decided to re-gr'ade several of the teams. ‘How they are being regraded I cannot understand, as last week one team that was reduced was ahead of a team that was not reduced. As all. the hockey teams except Technical have played for the Shield several times they are debarred from playing in the lower grade, as the rules of the association state that no permits for regrading shall he granted after June 1. If the various clubs regraded have paid their subscription fees as mentioned in rules 13 and 14, they are entitled to play according to their fees, hut if they have not paid, they should be classed as unflnancial. I would he pleased if some of your readers could toll me: (1) If any of the referees belongs to any club and which club? (2) Also if any of the officers of the association oilier -than delegates oolongs to any club and if so, what club? (3) What clubs do the big three belong to as mentioned by rule 10? Hoping some of your readers can enlighten me on the above. I am, etc., SIDE LINER. Hamilton, July 30, 1932.
