OTOROHANGA.
Relief Workers on Farms. With the advent of the dairying season the Otorohanga Unemployment Committee, is inundated with requests for relief workers under 4a scheme. The Unemployment Board advises that while there is no restriction placed on the one class of work that may be done, provided the labour is additional, the scheme is not intended to apply to those farmers who usually employ additional labour for seasonal occupations. The men in the relief camps in the Northern King Country are generally satisfied with the food provided and the living conditions, and the overseers speak of the majority as able and conscientious workers. Bettor Demand for Land. During the week there has been an active demand for small dairy farms in the district. The gap in the ideas of values as between the prospective buyers and the vendors is, however, very hard to bridge. Boy Scouts Foregather. The Otorohanga troop of Boy Scouts held a reunion, when there was a capacity attendance, presided over by Mr A. B. Mossman,- the president of the local organisation.
