Sir James Parr, Leader of the Legislative Council, who has been visiting Christchurch, returned to Auckland yesterday.
Sir John Roberts, of Dunedin, has been advised that he has had conferred upon him the freedom of Selkirk, his native town in Scotland.
First Lieutenant S. Wallingford, Royal New Zealand Air Force, liaspassed the R.A.F. Staff College qualifying examination, says a London paper.

The Rev. F. G. Long, secretary of the New Zealand Board of Missions, who lias been visiting the Waikato in connection with Hie Church of England missionary exhibitions, will leave to-night on his return to Wellington.
