CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
MONTHLY SOCIAL. The attendance at the monthly evening of the South Auckland Caledonian Society was good. A fine programme was presented, each item being enthusiastically received. Mr S. Clothier referred to the annual meeting, and nominations for the various offices are called for. After supper the hall was cleared for old-time dancing to music by McLachlin’s orchestra. Extras were played on the pipes by Mr S. Rogerson. Mr L. Cameron was M.C.. The programme consisted of pipe selections by the society’s Pipe Band; dance, Miss Gladys Scott; songs, Mr 11. Hickford; elocution, Miss Dorothea de Montalk; vocal duct, Misses Haswell and Edwards; Irish jig. Miss Daisy Gilmore; elocution, Miss Betty Mara; songs, Mr J. Fricker; Highland fling, Miss Sorenson; musical duets, Messrs Burgess and Reidy; recitations, Mr Wallace; musical duct, Messrs Kilburn and Davy; songs, Mr Rewa; orchestra numbers by Mr McLachiin’s orchestra. Accompaniments were played by Miss I. Higgins, Mr W. Whitehead, and PipeMajor S. Clothier.
