TEN-ACRE FARMS.

POSITION IN RAGLAN COUNTY. THE CONSTRUCTION OF COTTAGES Steady progress is being made with the 10-acre farm scheme in the Raglan County area, although the spade work is taking much longer than was expected. The chief enoountered in organising the scheme is the impression held by the majority of farmers that they will be put to some expense or loss by aiding it. This is quite wrong as no additional burden will be placed on them. It is expected that three or four sections near the town of Raglan will be taken over shortly. The eonstru&tion of cottages is well under way and it is not thought that there will be any unuue delay. The Mamaku bush is supplying a good amount of the timber and the bouses are, being put together at the railway workshops, Otahuhu. They are being built in sections so as to facilitate transport. It has been stated that some would be constructed at Frankton, but this is inoorreot, as the works there have been dismantled.
