MATAMATA NOTES.
FAREWELL EVENING. An enjoyable evening, in the form of a farewell to Mr Banks, Junr., and Miss Banks, was given by Miss M. Schwarz on Thursday. The evening passed very pleasantly with novelty dancing, games, etc. After supper Mr G. Fitzgerald, speaking on behalf of the assembled friends of Mr and Miss Banks, said that they were extremely sorry to know that they were losing such old friends. He also thanked Miss M. Schwarz for her kindness as hostess. Mr Banks replied suitably, and the evening closed with musical honours. Among those present were Misses W. Banks, M. Schwarz, E. and G. Vosper, Gladys and Gwen Jones, B. Madill, A. Sutherland, V. Simpson, V. Much, W. Bates, Margaret Schwarz and J. Gordon, Messrs E. C. Banks, B. J. and R. Schwarz, K. Buckley, E. and L. Huston, J. and M. Simpson, G. Fitzgerald, W. Oates, J. Diprose, M. Madill and I. Hirst. Personals. Mrs R. Hill and daughter, of Hawera, are the guests of Mrs T. H. Prowse. Mrs Burns, Christchurch, is the guest of her sister, Mrs A. J. Spain, Per la. Miss Peat, Auckland, Is visiting her mother, Mrs J. Coulter. Mrs P. T. Keane has returned from an extended visit to Auckland. Mrs L. Flower is visiting Auckland. Mrs B. Schwarz is on a visit to Mrs J. Wymer, Waiuku.
