The total revenue received by the Commonwealth Government in the 11 months of the current financial year is £61,846,000, of which £7,620,000 represents receipts from the sales tax. it is expected that the deficit at the end of the year will be very slight. There is even a strong possibility oi’ a small surplus, especially if the New South Wales interest payments are met in the near future.
