LOCAL RUGBY.
(To the Editor.) ■Sir,—l hope you -will allo A v ™ e , a mile space to make known a detail which was altogether missedbythe lnral Rugby Union. On Saturday iune 4 l noU«e .hat Te Kowh.l scheduled to play Ruakura at Te Kowhai. Last Saturday Technical Old Boys played a curtain-raiser at Rugby Park against Te Kowhai quite a number of supporters swelling the numbers Of the onlookers. 'lt was during the match that I heard .several speaking about the performance of the two teams and especially of I . Te . for a country team. Te Kowhai were unlucky to lose the game, but stand equal to Ruakura in points- Why are not the members of the H-R-U- fa *\ seeing enough to know that many farmers would he in town during Show Week and especially on the last day and that a curtain-raiser between Te Kowhai and Ruakura' would have an added attraction. Evidently the Union is not at all anxious to supplement its gate takings. Who wants to see the town teams every week when a good game is ’to .be played in the country?—l am, etc., RUGBYITE.
