WEDDINGS.
VANDY—THRUPP. The wedding took place at _ St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Morrinsville, on Wednesday, between Miss Margaret Eileen Thrupp, only daughter of .Mr and Airs T. Thrupp, of Morrinsville, and Mr John Phillip Nanay, eldest son of Mr and Mrs P. Vandy, of Raglan. The church was prettily decorated with white flowers and greenery by friends of the bride. The wedding music was played by the organist, Miss M. Strevens. The Rev. Father Shore performed the ceremony and celebrated Nuptial Mass. As the bride entered and left ihe church, the Children of Mary, o whom the bride had been a member, formed a guard of honour. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of white satin beaute made with a tight-fitting ruched bodice, long, tight-fitting sleeves, and full ankle-length flared skirt. The tulle veil was held in place with sprays of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of white roses, narcissus and blue forget-me-not. The bridesmaid, Miss Phyllis O’Brien, of Morrinsville, wore a very pretty frock of nile green georgette, made with a 'tight-fitting bodice and puff sleeves. The full ankle-length flared skirt was trimmed with bands ■of ruchlng and tiny sprays of pink rosebuds. She also wore mittens, and a large felt hat. Her bouquet was of pink roses and chrysanthemums. The bridegroom was attended by Mr F. Vandy, of Raglan, as best man. After the 'ceremony a reception was held, when the usual toasts were honoured. The bride’s mother received her guests wearing a frock of brown panne velvet and brown felt hat and carrying a posy of anemones. The bridegroom’s mother wore a black taffeta frock and blaok and white felt hat, and carried a posy of violets. The newly married couple left on their honeymoon, the bride wearing a brown suit.and fox fur and brown and tangerine felt hat. They will reside at Kiwitahi. • /
