THE ECONOMY COTTAGE.
ELLIS & BURNAND SHOW EXHIBIT. Never, in the history of the Waikato Winter Show, has any exhibit received such attention as is being accorded the four-roomed Economy Cottage produced by Messrs. Ellis and Burnand, Ltd. This interesting structure occupies a prominent position on the right of the Main Annexe. The cosy and homely appearance of the cottage invites the sight-seer’s visit, and front entrance is gained through a spacious porch glassed in with Easifold Porch Windows. The first, room—the main living-room—-coivlains many labour-saving features, including a light table which folds into the wall. A neat convertible-to-open-fire type Orion enamelled-faced range makes an attractive setting. This maintains a splendid hot-water service. The walls arc of high-panelled three-ply rimu, the top portion being of British Essex Wallboard. The other three rooms are of comfortable size and arc smartly finished. The bathroom contains a full-size white porcelain hath and there is ample room for a wash-basin. The scullery and wash-house are combined and contain a large sink (served with hot and cold water), let-in flour bins, meat safe, spare cupboards, drawers and linen presses. Here, too, are two tubs alongside a Corona concrete copper. The back door opens on to a rear porch. The Ellis and Burnand Economy Collage is admirably constructed, everything being of artistic, finish and conforming to the most modem standards. It is painted cream, with green facings. The cottage may be purchased with all fittings (exclusive 1 of electric light) for £295 nett .cash, or, if erected within 50 miles of Hamilton, by rail or metalled roads on a level site, £335 nett cash. 86
