N.Z. CO-OPERATIVE SCOURING & CARBONISING, CO., LTD.

Many sheep farmers have for years realised that their wool, which is sold as at present in the grease, dirt and seed, with qualities, counts and values unknown, did not bring parity prices with the true market values. A better system of marketing was necessary. They knew it was an economio absurdity at this distance from the manufacturing centres to pay freight and charges on from one-quarter to one-half of the total weight in waste matter, and then pay another country to sort and clean it, and only then placing same in a condition to ascertain its value.

This co-operative company is going to remove this anomaly, and when our wool is offered ior sale it will be in a state where truo qualities and true counts’ values arc known, thereby removing the speculative estimation of contents, and giving growers the opportunity of getting value for the different spinning counts their wool contains. This will give confidence to buyers from countries that at present aro unable to buy our wool freely on account of high tariffs at port of destination.

Wool in New Zealand is tho only primary product that has had no effort made to improve its system of preparing for market, and the industry has consequently not received many hundreds of thousands of pounds that might have been distributed in the country.

The incorporation of this company is the first stage of a national organisation to put our wool industry on a par with the dairy industry, insofar as marketing in true qualities and grades is concerned. It only requires the united support of the woolgrowers to have the wholo scheme in operation at an early date. Now is the time to subscribe for shares. Do not wait lo be allotted grower capital, for notwithstanding the company has gone to allotment, a number of ordinary shares are still available, and the larger the subscription the greater the benefit. Those farmers subscribing for ordinary shares will get the fullest advantages, as shown in the prospectus. For any Information concerning the company and its objects write to the secretary, P.O. Box VJi, Auckland, or, if in Hamilton for the Show, visitors should interview Mr W. Cecil Knglaiul, who may he consulted on the stand of M. .1. Hooper and Co., where lie will reply to any inquiry or criticism.
